Baby Steps to Balancing Your Life

Published by lauragagnon under Uncategorized Edit This

While it has been my intention to Blog with you every day, I have not been around for a few days. The truth is I had been so focused on getting my writings started I had been procrastinating on other things in my life. I am expecting a baby in 4 weeks and I had not even gotten his room straightened out! So, needless to say, I had to get on with that. Then when I had not written or published any articles in a few days, I felt I had nothing of substance to share with you so I stayed away! No excuse though, I had simply lost balance in my life.

Now that I have come to realize that I have set about trying to restore that balance. I want to keep moving forward with my goals while being consistent with my current responsibilities. That is what we all need isn’t it? BALANCE.

In researching how I may get back on track I came across some pointers that I thought I would share with you. If you have perhaps, like me, lost some balance in your life, while trying to move it forward here are some things to do to try to get that balance back.

First thing you should do is keep a journal of everything you do for about a week. Keep track of every task you do, even the most mundane and seemingly insignificant. Then at the end of that week, you can go over that journal and determine which of the things are the most rewarding to you, both in work and your personal life. Then try to weed out the other things and do not repeat those things the next week. This will simplify your life a bit. It will also allow you to “not sweat the small stuff”.

Now that you’ve chosen your tasks for the week, make sure you stay on track - avoid procrastination at all costs! One way to do this is to save some recreational time for yourself during the week to ‘reward yourself’ if you do not procrastinate.

Remember to communicate clearly with those around you about your expectations, plans, goals etc. This is so everyone knows what to expect. It will take a lot of pressure off you if everything is out in the open and those who care about you are involved with your plans, after all “no man (or woman) is an island”.

Yes we’re still at baby steps. Perhaps the whole journey to success consists of baby steps? If it does at least we won’t get burnt out along the way!

Thank you for your patience and I hope you are all able to achieve this balance while we keep leading our lives to success and happiness!

 Cheers,

Laura

Accepting Lows While Getting High

Published by lauragagnon under Uncategorized Edit This

So NO I’m not talking about drugs here people! Recently I had a “heated discussion”with someone close to me that left me feeling defeated and, well, low. Self-doubt crept in and I wanted to just give it all up; my goals, my plans and even my ideas for how we can all do this together!Frown

After licking my figurative wounds for a little bit, I slowly came to my senses and here is what my senses told me. I have been riding high, feeling really good about the work that I have accomplished lately. So good that I have eagerly shared it all with you! I did forget one thing. There WILL be bumps in the road along the way. You just cannot let that discourage you from your original goals. As long as YOU believe in what you are doing, keep doing it!

If you ever do experience some self-doubt, as I did, go back and take a look at what you have set as your ultimate goals. Give yourself a refresher on what your dreams are. You CAN do this! Yes we can!!

So I keep on keeping on. I have published two more articles! WooHoo! Take a look, my wonderful readers, and let me know what you think. Please let me know what you think!

So after this experience I can tell you one thing for certain. You have to accept the lows while it feels like you’re riding high. This is YOUR life, don’t let anyone deter you from your dreams. Remember, together we will lead our lives to success!!

Getting Through Your Future While Working Through Your Past

Published by lauragagnon under Uncategorized Edit This

Today I realized something that I thought I would share. In preparation for regular writing I had made a list of subjects that I may want to write about. As I started writing I thought I would tackle the difficult subjects first, then move on to the subjects that would be more fun to deal with. So I had been writing about depression and dealing with grief and then I had my realization.

I have dealt with depression and grief myself in the last 7 years. It has been a long road which I feel I maybe coming to the end of (finally). Am I subconciously working through issues from my past to better enable me to move towards my future?

In this blog we have been focusing on leading our lives towards a successful future and different ways to accompish that. What my revelation reminded me was that we can never forget where we have been. Remember your mistakes from the past, take on issues you may not have dealt with from your past. In doing this it will free you to move more easily towards the successful future we are all striving for.

Do not get side tracked from all you are accomplishing. You’ll end up in another round of “Baby Step Boogie“! If there are things from your past that need to be dealt with, include them in your action plan for the future - those long and sort term goals you set for yourself. As those issues are dealt with and perhaps overcome you will feel lighter, your accomlishments more full.

Do not let this new action plan let you get side tracked into the pit of procrastination. It is simply something you can weave into what you already have on your “to do”list.

I want it all. Happiness and success. I want that for you to. Together we WILL lead our lives to happiness and success.

Cheers to us!
Laura

PS I want to hear what YOU think, leave me a comment! Cheers! Smile

Daily Diversifying Drudgery

Published by lauragagnon under Uncategorized Edit This

So, on the road to self-prosperity one has to try everything they can to succeed. However, with long term goals in mind and short term tasks at hand it can all get pretty overwhelming, can’t it?

Do NOT give upon all you have achieved thus far and do NOT beat yourself up if you have not yet achieved what you expected. You have worked through confusion, dreaming, goal setting, task mastering and getting through procrastination! Wow!

Now that you’ve taken that first action step, whatever it was, you’re busy trying to continue your streak. Not as easy as it sounds if, like me, you have given yourself an overload of tasks to complete in one day.

We can not forget our baby steps. If a task seems overwhelming, take a moment, take that task and break it down into smaller tasks. Diversify your task list and the list will not seem so intimidating. Smaller items take much less time to complete than larger ones, and can therefore be checked off of your list faster!

In my case I wanted to get involved in all of these writing sites write several articles a day by getting up early etc etc etc. Pretty lofty goals when I have just moved, am 8 months pregnant and home with two preschoolers!! I  had to decide to take each thing as I could get it done, and diversify my daily tasks. One must do anything they can to NOT get discouraged right? Oh and I am also still workingon the ‘getting up early’ thing LOL!! I must say, due to my diversifying I still feel like I am on F-I-R-E..sssss……hooray for that. Laughing

As a reader I would LOVE for you to check out my latest work andletme know what you think.

I am still taking those steps, and you can to! Do not get overwhelmed, just diversify your tasks so they are more manageable.

Stepping Back in Line…From Boogie Time

Published by lauragagnon under Uncategorized Edit This

So my ‘Baby Step Boogie’ took me on a little detour. Life does that, however, detours off your path or stepping out of line, so to speak. The trick is to step back IN line and get back on track as soon as possible. Don’t stop focusing on your goals because you’ve been distracted!

As it stands, I am still writing, still prepping, still researching, still ‘getting ready’. I think there’s only so much preparation work a person can do! As Nike used to say, you have to “Just Do It”!

So join me as I step back in line and get back on track. If I can do it, you definately can to! I am going to review my long term plans and remind myself of my long term goals. Create for myself a fresh focus.

Take that first step with clarity and confidence and before we know it we will be stepping back in line, coming back from baby step boogie time.

Cheers to our success,

Laura

The Baby Step Boogie!

Published by lauragagnon under Uncategorized Edit This

I have begun to build up my writing repetoire. Pretty soon I’ll have lots to share with you! So, my first baby step is about to take place. I have decided, however, to also focus on the social side of promoting my work. Nothing for sale or anything like that, but a writer needs readers right?

So, as a result, my system of baby steps gradually moving towards an ultimate goal has taken a little side step already! I’m sure, as I go along, I’ll find that I will have to adjust several times, to maintain my goals. Perhaps there will be enough side steps for a little dance! I’ll call this dance the Baby Step Boogie.

Remember, keep focused on your ultimate goals and plugging away at your current steps to get there. You’ll dance successfully into your future!

Cheers,
Laura

Set your goals to match your dreams…using baby steps!

Published by lauragagnon under Uncategorized Edit This

Okay, so recently I have tried to map out my life for the next decade or so, to include the successful realization of certain aspirations that I have, in an attempt to make my own dreams come true.

A lot of things lin life are not under our control, but somethings are.

Part of this plan of mine is to be able to earn money under my own terms, to allow me to be with my growing family and not feel dependant on anyone because of it. I have tried a few things (none of which very successful) and am now gearing up to sincerely make a go of it.

I am a freelance writer and content creator. This is the first baby step towards my future plans.
I hope to soon share, on this blog, some of my work so you can check it out for yourselves. I will also keep you updated on how things are going regarding my future plans. Believe me, if I become successful I WILL share how I did it!

Cheers to all,

Go BIG and go all the way!

Published by lauragagnon under Uncategorized Edit This

So I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching lately. I’m not sure about you, but I want it all.
I want to try everything, I want to do anything (legally speaking) and I always have.
I always dream big. Do others?
I find I am attracted to people who are the same. Big dreamers, big doers. Is this the Law of Attraction kicking in? Who knows.
If you’re the same, but you need funds to start your endeavours I found this really cool site called the
GoBIGNetwork. It is a networking type site where you can find investors for your business etc. Check it out and don’t forget to dream BIG!
As always, it’s time to lead your lives. :)
Cheers,
Laura

Ben Mack and Bucky’s Magic

Published by lauragagnon under Uncategorized Edit This

This was it, the last evening of Ben Mack’s webinar series “Profitable Magic”. This session was a little different. Ben invited Peter Meisen, steward of GENI, Global Energy Network Initiative to speak about the legacy of R Buckminster Fuller (Bucky for short). Bucky started GENI. He was an intellect with ideas that are even more prevalent today.

Mr. Meisen discussed issues of renewable resources and the environment. Some key points:
- The Wind Industry has been growing at 40% every 2 years or so. There were 10,000 mega watts world wide of wind energy in 2000, now there are 80,000MW around the world.
-The Solar Industry is also exploding, 30-40% every 2 years (or so).
-Mr Meisen, with GENI, formed an index so that people can invest in renewable energies.Who are the leading companies who are taking Carbon out of all their services in the varying sectors? You can find out more about this at
http://www.kld.com/ . see Global 100 Index.
-In the past 600,000 years, Carbon ppm(parts per million) never went above 300. In the last 100 years, we’ll be lucky the high that we reach is 450!!!

Now, although I am certainly NOT an expert on Bucky Fuller, this is what I gathered fro this webinar. It sounds like he was a man who was before his time. Some of his sayings came up in the conversation and I’m going to list them so you can do with them what you will, I’ll just be pleased that you read and thought about them. Oh and they’re not necessarily word for word, but I think they’re pretty close to what I heard.
-Spontaneous Cooperation, How can we make the world work for 100% of humanity in the shortest amount of time?
-You never change things to fight the existing reality, but you change things to make the existing reality obsolete.
-Comprehensive Anticipatory Design Science (it was suggested need would need to “google” this term in order to properly understand it), bu t I think it’s something like being able to design something or idea while predicting future variables like increase in population.
-Do not fight forces, use those forces to fight.
and my favorite
-Love is metaphysical Gravity.

Now, while all this was extremely interesting, and valuable as entrepreneurs are often the ones trying to make a difference, I was still left with the question of relevance to the Magic of it all.
Then it struck me. While the environmental relevance was a stretch for me as far as my business development, R Buckminster Fuller is clearly an extremely important figure to many.(As he should be) and in sharing him with all of us, Ben Mack has made him so to us as well.
Not only that, we will be telling all of our friends about him, and starting conversations on the environment. One message can reach the eyes of many, like ripples in a pond, like MAGIC. Let’s see how far we can take it beloved people!

Thank you so much Ben for such an enlightening experience. I do hope to meet you one day, have a drink and a chat. You sound interesting and enlightening on so many levels.

One more step towards success everyone!
Cheers to you
